Shinjuku

Having one of the world’s busiest railway stations as well as being a major center for commercials, Shinjuku attracts many people. In Shinjuku, there are many places to visit. I’ve listed some of the for me most memorable places down below. Before getting off at the Shinjuku Station, I’d recommend you to look up the station plan as it is hard to find the right exit while walking within the massive crowds of people running in all different directions at the same time.

Shin-Okubo

If you’re interested in getting a taste of the Korean culture or looking for some fancy cosmetics or K-pop Merch, Shin-Okubo is the right place for you! Get some delicious food like Bingsu (Ice), Hotteok (Street food, pancakes), or visit a good Korean barbecue restaurant while you’re shopping your favorite goods.

Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building

If you’re on a low budget or running out of money, this is a pretty good choice to see Tokyo from above instead of visiting the Tokyo Tower or Tokyo Skytree. It’s completely for free. You’ll take the elevator to the 46th floor to enjoy the stunning view.

Shinjuku Gyoen Park

Craving some nature or simply can’t get enough of Japans beautiful parks? The Shinjuku Gyoen is absolutely breathtaking, during day and night time.

I’ve been there at nighttime during the “Sakura Night Garden Illumination” event, a collaboration of the company Naked, Inc. and Shinjuku Gyoen in April 2023.
